Sandvine Honored with Two Distinctions at Cable-Tec Expo
Sandvine Network Integrity Suite receives high honors for broadband network and subscriber protection
CABLE-TEC EXPO, San Antonio, Texas; June 15, 2005 – Sandvine Incorporated today announced that it has received two distinctions at Cable-Tec Expo for its Network Integrity Suite - Broadband Gear Report’s Diamond Technology Award and Communications Technology Readers’ Choice Award nomination.
Broadband Gear Report judges gave Sandvine a rating of 3.5 in its first annual Diamond Technology award at Cable-Tec Expo. “Inaugural awards programs will always have very high standards,” said Laura Hamilton, Editor of Broadband Gear Report and a 15-year cable industry technical journalist. “This product not only ‘made the grade,’ but received high marks.”
“Sandvine is pleased to be selected by Broadband Gear Report’s distinctive panel of cable MSO judges,” said Tom Donnelly, executive vice president, marketing and sales. “Sandvine’s Network Integrity Suite is more than just security; it’s about protecting the network and subscriber applications from malicious and competing traffic to ensure subscriber quality of experience.”
Communications Technology, the official trade journal of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) short-listed Sandvine for the Reader’s Choice Award in the High-Speed Data category. This is Sandvine’s third consecutive year participating in this category. In 2003 Sandvine’s P2P Policy Management solution was awarded this distinction and in 2004, Sandvine Worm and Denial-Of-Service Traffic Mitigation won the honors.
“Sandvine is honored to be nominated for the third year in a row for Communications Technology’s Reader’s Choice Award,’ added Tom Donnelly. “We are proud to be protecting broadband service provider networks around the world and ensuring subscribers’ optimal network performance for their applications and Internet needs.”
The Sandvine Network Integrity Suite mitigates and eliminates malicious traffic on broadband service provider networks. Incorporating innovative behavioral and signature-based network intelligence, Sandvine Network Integrity Suite identifies and cleanses network flows of worms, spam, DNS attacks and DoS traffic, protecting QoE (quality of experience) on a per-subscriber basis.
Sandvine’s award-winning intelligent broadband network equipment helps broadband service providers characterize what really happens on their networks, enabling policies that improve customer satisfaction, reduce operational costs and improve profitability. Sandvine’s application and subscriber-aware solutions empower service providers to take control of P2P traffic, stop the proliferation of destructive worm, DoS and spam trojan traffic and ensure subscriber quality of experience (QoE). With over 100 deployments worldwide, Sandvine is protecting the Internet experience for more than 20 million broadband subscribers worldwide.
