Worms are wreaking havoc on service provider networks and costing them an estimated $245 million a year as unplanned equipment expenditures, hemorrhaging customer support costs and inflated transit fees eat away at bottom-lines all around the world. Distribution of maliciously crafted worm code is increasingly being targeted at the most vulnerable, unprotected link - residential subscribers.
