NanoGaming™ goes live on NASCAR.COM
LiveHive Systems™ partners with Turner Sports to provide interactive trivia game
JULY 30, 2007 - WATERLOO, ONTARIO: LiveHive Systems, a company that is taking a pioneering role in interactive TV, is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with Turner Sports for 17 televised races of the NASCAR racing season. ‘Live Race Trivia presented by Shell’, powered by LiveHive’s NanoGaming product, launched on NASCAR.COM for NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series races with the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, July 29, 2007.
“NASCAR is one of the top-rated televised sports in the United States, with an estimated 75 million fans,” said Dave Bullock, President and Co-Founder of LiveHive Systems. “Signing with Turner Sports will bring NanoGaming to millions of people and show them just how exciting sports can be with interactive technology.”
“NASCAR.COM has been searching for an interactive application like this for several years and we are pleased to partner with LiveHive to produce our live race trivia game,” said Peter Scott, Turner Sports executive interactive producer. “NanoGaming offers our viewers the ability to enhance their level of interaction with the race, which is at the core of Turner Sports’ mission of giving fans the best possible online experience.”
In addition to offering trivia during the next seven NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series races, NanoGaming will offer viewers the ability to participate in a contest over the final 10 races of the season, beginning with the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway on September 16. Viewers will compete on their computers against other players to answer up to 50 trivia questions, in real-time, watching the race live on TV, with the opportunity to win prizes. For example, race fans can respond to questions about how many tires were changed during the last pitstop, or answer trivia about a particular driver on the course. All they have to do is go to www.nascar.com/promos/liveracetrivia, click on the registration button, login, and be directed to NanoGaming.
NanoGaming provides value for players, broadcasters, and advertisers. It provides non-stop, real-time action for players, making the sporting event even more interesting. It helps broadcasters increase their dedicated viewership, convert passive viewers into active participants, and drive fans to their website during a broadcast. NanoGaming also provides the ideal platform for advertisers who seek to leverage new interactive media channels.
LiveHive Systems has also introduced NanoGaming to reality TV with the Global Television Network in Canada for the popular TV show Big Brother 8.
